Getting Help

Plan your visit

Come to our office at 191 Skyland Drive. Please bring a photo ID. Drive up to the building and a staff member will come out to speak with you. You will complete a brief registration form, then proceed with your visit. UCM offers a client choice food pantry so that you can choose your own pantry items. If you are unable to come inside, we offer curbside assistance. We are open 10am-3pm Monday, Thursday, and Friday; 12:30pm-5:00pm Tuesday; and 10am-12:30pm Wednesday. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before our closing time so that we will have time to help you.

How we can help

Food Assistance:
We have a full assortment of food items available: fresh fruits and vegetables, canned foods, frozen meats, cereals, pastas, soup, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly, and more.

Personal Items & Household Goods:
We provide personal toiletry items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) and household items (laundry detergent, dish detergent, etc.) when available. We do not provide furniture, clothing, household items, mattresses, or appliances.

Financial Assistance:
Limited financial assistance is available to residents of Jackson County for overdue utilities, past due rent, heating, prescription co-pays, and other bills as funding allows. To apply for financial assistance, please bring an official bill or statement showing the amount due, as well as contact information for the agency to be paid. If we can assist you, we will pay the provider directly.  We provide financial assistance once every twelve months.

Other Assistance:
During the winter months, we distribute donated blankets and cold weather items as available. For Thanksgiving, we provide items for your Thanksgiving meal. For Christmas, we partner with our local schools to provide food bags for families to help ease the added food needs when schools are out for Winter Break.

Spiritual Assistance

As a Christian Ministry, we would be honored to provide you with a bible, bible study aids, or a referral to a local pastor.

If we cannot meet all of your needs, we can refer you to other agencies with whom we have good working relationships.
