Getting Help
Food Assistance: UCM clients can visit the pantry every two weeks. We provide a full range of food items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, frozen meats, cereals, pasta, soup, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly, and additional items.
Personal Items & Household Goods: We provide personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste, along with household essentials like toilet paper and dish detergent, when available. These items are generously donated by local supporters, so their availability may vary.
Financial Assistance:
To apply for financial aid, you must bring an official bill or statement showing the past-due amount and the service provider's contact details. Proof of residency in Jackson County is also required. If eligible, we will pay the provider directly. Assistance is limited to once every twelve months.
Other Assistance: During the winter months, we distribute donated blankets and cold-weather items as they become available. For Thanksgiving, we provide Food Lion gift cards to assist with your holiday meal. For Christmas, we work with local schools to distribute food bags to families, helping meet the extra food needs that arise when schools are closed for Winter Break.
Spiritual Assistance
As a compassionate Christian Ministry, we would be happy to provide you with a Bible or connect you with a local pastor for additional support.
Referrals: If we can't meet all your needs, we can refer you to other agencies we collaborate with.
