United Christian Ministries of Jackson County Inc.

Who We Are

United Christian Ministries was established in 1989 by a group of churches in Jackson County to create a central place to provide residents with food and other assistance. Our mission is to unite resources in Jackson County, inspired by the call of Jesus Christ, to serve our neighbors' needs. We assist all residents of Jackson County, NC, regardless of income. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are funded by donations and grants. We are governed by a Board of Directors, have two staff members, and are supported by many volunteers.

What We Do

UCM is mainly a client-choice food pantry. Our neighbors can pick up groceries every two weeks. The pantry is well-stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, rice, pasta, frozen meats, bakery items, and more. UCM also provides financial assistance to eligible individuals for overdue essential bills, including rent, utilities, heating, and prescription co-pays. This financial help is available once a year.
